IMPACT

The design of the site alleviated neighbors’ concerns of water on their property. Smart design created spaces that serve multiple functions throughout the day, saving the client money and a reduction of impervious surfaces. A neighborhood cut through was taken off line, making the site safer for students.

Tallmadge Elementary and Middle School Facilities

Environmental Design Group provided schematic design, design development and construction documents for the design of the site hardscape, utility, grading, landscape, and athletic fields. Additional services included storm detention requirements, LEED requirements, roadway improvements, permitting and a traffic impact study.

The Tallmadge School District’s new elementary school and middle school are located on a 38-acre site in Tallmadge, Ohio. The grounds and buildings were phased so that the existing on-site middle school remains in operation until the proposed middle school is complete. The large site was outfitted with two multi-use practice fields, a baseball field, parking for staff, visitors, buses and events. The design of the site alleviated traffic “cutting through” the site, improved its water management by keeping water on-site and off adjacent properties as well as providing multi-use hardscape areas to minimize costs to the client.
